With the goal of constructing the project as efficiently and economically as possible, early collaboration between the Owner, Engineer, and Ram can produce significant cost savings to the client. Through value engineering, we have successfully provided engineering and construction alternatives that have saved Owners hundreds of thousands of dollars while, in many cases, also allowing faster delivery of the final project.
Budgeting and Estimating:
Developing accurate construction bid estimates requires a comprehensive understanding of project costs and factors that impact project costs, along with knowledge of the estimating process. In the end, our estimating team addresses three primary concerns; quantities, pricing and productivity. We have the estimating expertise that you need.
When time is short and the risks are substantial, our clients rely on the RAM Design-Build Team to successfully see them through. Affiliated with some of the regions most respected, talented and knowledgeable design and engineering firms, RAM can assemble a design-build team that is particularly suited to the project’s unique needs. The advantage of the design-build approach is that the project delivery team has single-point responsibility for the project. This helps expedite construction time-frames, saves cost, reduces or eliminates claims and provides for greater innovation.
With our extensive heavy civil construction and project management expertise, our typical civil scope of work includes on-site roads, crane pads, foundation excavation and backfill, trenching and backfill, grading, laydown yards and staging areas, and storm water management and reclamation.
Prefabricated Metal Buildings
Metal buildings have lower construction cost and shorter construction times than many other construction methods. RAM has erected, added on to, and repaired many hundreds of metal buildings. Whether it be to construct a new manufacturing facility with overhead crane systems, provide warehousing, or facilitate business growth by expanding an existing structure.
RAM provides overhead bridge crane design, build, and installation. Optimizing the design can reduce the size of the runway and building structure required to support the lifted load, thus reducing the overall building cost.
Building Modification and Repair
RAM excels in building modification and repair and can save the client thousands of dollars and untold grief through proper assessment of options.
- Engineering feasibility reviews
- Re-skinning and re-roofing
- Adding on bays
- Raising roofs
- Burn-out repair
- Lean-to additions
- Adding retrofit overhead crane systems
- Much more
You do not need a separate demolition contractor to remove old structures and concrete as you are preparing your site for new construction. RAM has the equipment and expertise to provide these services safely and economically.
There are many types of special projects that can come up that might fall outside the realm of conventional industrial or civil construction. We strive to be sensitive to your needs and find workable solutions. We have built barns, engineered catwalks, demolished ocean piers and many other special projects. What are your needs?

RAM Construction was started in 1976 by Jack Brumley Jr. At its beginning, the company specialized in industrial civil construction and concrete work, gradually branching out in the eighties and nineties to high-rise commercial buildings, tilt wall warehousing and prefabricated metal buildings and overhead crane systems.
As unique challenges have been encountered over the decades, RAM has emerged as a leader in the specialty of building modification and repair. One example is a church burnout in Vidor, TX left the center 50% of the building ruined while the wings were still usable. RAM helped the congregation maximize their insurance dollars by cutting out the center of the building and joining the intact wings into a new prefabricated structure, saving hundreds of thousands. Another example is an industrial customer who was re-tooling a plant and needed an additional twenty feet of headroom in their building. With seemingly no choice but to dismantle and rebuild they turned to RAM who engineered a solution and was able to raise the roof of their existing building, saving over 50% of the project budget for the customer.
